Garmin has announced the CIRQA Smart Band, its first screen-free wearable designed to deliver comprehensive health and fitness tracking without the distractions of a display. With up to 10 days of battery life and no ongoing subscription fees, it’s an interesting addition to Garmin’s growing health and wellness ecosystem.

Here at The Smart Home Blog, we’ve reviewed a number of Garmin devices over the years, including several of the company’s smartwatches and fitness wearables.

The new CIRQA takes a slightly different approach, focusing on collecting health data in the background while leaving notifications and screens behind.
Designed to be Subtle
Unlike a traditional smartwatch, the CIRQA Smart Band has no screen. Instead, it’s designed for users who want to monitor their health and activity without another device constantly demanding their attention.
The lightweight fabric band can be worn on the wrist or upper arm, making it suitable for workouts, daily wear or overnight sleep tracking. Garmin is also offering a wide range of colours, including Citron Gray, Mauve, French Gray, Dark Olive, Captain Blue, French Blue and Black.
One of the more interesting features is Garmin’s automatic activity detection. The band can recognise a variety of activities without any user input, with everything syncing to the Garmin Connect app. Users can review and edit detected workouts afterwards, and Garmin says the system will improve its recognition over time based on those corrections.

CIRAQ Smart Band Health Tracking
Although the CIRQA has no display, it still includes many of the health features found across Garmin’s premium wearables.
When worn throughout the day and night, it can monitor:
- Wrist-based heart rate
- Body Battery energy monitoring
- Pulse Ox blood oxygen saturation
- Stress levels
- Skin temperature
- Sleep quality and recovery
- Daily activity tracking
All of this information is available through the Garmin Connect app, where users can view trends and gain a more complete picture of their overall health.

For women’s health, Garmin continues to expand its feature set with menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking. Overnight skin temperature data can also improve period predictions and provide retrospective ovulation estimates. Users of the Natural Cycles app can also sync their Garmin data, although a separate Natural Cycles subscription is still required.
A different approach to wearable technology
The growing trend towards screen-free wearables reflects a shift in how many people use fitness technology. Rather than replacing a smartwatch, the CIRQA Smart Band appears to complement Garmin’s existing range by offering continuous health tracking in a device that’s designed to be almost unnoticeable.
It’s an appealing option for anyone who already owns a Garmin smartwatch but doesn’t necessarily want to wear it all day, particularly overnight, or for users who simply want health insights without constant notifications.
Garmin says the CIRQA Smart Band fits seamlessly into the Garmin ecosystem, with all collected data syncing to Garmin Connect alongside information from compatible Garmin devices.
Our Initial Thoughts
At first glance, the CIRQA Smart Band looks like an interesting alternative to traditional fitness trackers. The combination of comprehensive health monitoring, a discreet design and no subscription fees could make it attractive to users who value long-term health insights over smartwatch features.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the CIRQA Smart Band and hope to bring you a full hands-on review in the future. In the meantime, if you’ve enjoyed reading our previous Garmin reviews here on The Smart Home Blog, this latest wearable looks like another intriguing addition to the company’s expanding range of health-focused devices.
