Eve continues to migrate their entire product range to Matter, so if you don’t see a particular device supported just yet, rest assured it’s on the way.
Eve Energy Matter Certification
For those already using Eve smart plug devices with Home Assistant for energy reporting, this announcement may be confusing. Firmware version 3.5.0 doesn’t offer new reporting but a different, unified model of sharing energy data.
Eve Energy Matter Energy Reporting
Eve is paving the way for universal, manufacturer-independent energy management within the Matter ecosystem. Its previously proprietary reporting system is being replaced by standardised data reporting, as defined by the Matter specification.

It’s worth noting that Eve played a key role in developing the Matter energy reporting model as a member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance. The goal of this standardization was to create an open interface that enables seamless collaboration between devices from a wide range of manufacturers.
On platforms like Home Assistant, which natively support energy reporting, smart plugs such as Eve Energy will be able to deliver real-time data. See our Energy Dashboard Tutorial. Data such as power, voltage, and current, along with cumulative energy consumption are now directly available as entities.
This opens the door to dynamic, automated device control based on live energy data. Additionally, the new firmware enhances the overall stability of Eve Energy, (Ad) particularly within large Thread networks.

Eve Energy Certified for Home Assistant
Home Assistant and Eve Systems share fundamental values, such as local control without a cloud and safeguarding user privacy. Eve Energy connects directly to Home Assistant via Thread and is comprehensively mapped.
Eve Systems is working to have additional sensors, energy, lighting and heating control devices, as well as roller blinds certified for “Works With Home Assistant”. This is great news to have Eve’s quality hardware directly supported on the Home Assistant platform.
Home Assistant Energy Dashboard Update
If you are already have Eve smart plug devices reporting via the Home Assistant Energy Dashboard you may need to ensure they are using the correct reporting entity following the update.

The process is simple. Open your Energy Dashboard in Home Assistant, navigate to Settings, and select the device you’d like to configure. Once the changes are made, the dashboard will automatically update, typically within the hour.
